What is a band? A musical act? A performance? A song? A lyric or melody?

I'm finally at the point in life where it's feeling right to focus on creating a new music project. I've been writing and playing on-and-off on a solo basis since my first band Cloudsbreak dissolved some years ago, but I'm ready to get going again with a full on band.
